Gov. Maura Healey signed the Affordable Homes Act into law Tuesday, August 6. A key provision in the legislation allows for Accessory Dwelling Units to be built 'by right'. AARP has been fighting for that provision for months. ADUs are a family-friendly, community-creating type of housing the nation needs more of.
