Conference to Focus on Dementia, Emotional Wellness

People living with early dementia, their caregivers, health care professionals and others are invited to learn about paths to emotional wellness and the latest medical developments at the Mayo Clinic 2023 Conference on Brain Health and Dementia on Saturday, Nov. 4.

People can attend online or in person at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester (30 Civic Center Drive SE). The annual conference is a collaboration between Mayo, AARP Minnesota and the Alzheimer’s Association’s Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter.

The cost for the general public is $50 for online attendance and $85 in person. Continuing education credit is available for health care professionals.

The event—which runs from 9 a.m. to 4:50 p.m.—will explore emotional well-being from many perspectives. Presenters include people living with dementia, caregivers, health care providers and researchers. Breakout sessions will focus on resources and tools, including planning strategies and doctor-patient communications.

The Alzheimer’s Association projects that 120,000 Minnesotans age 65-plus will have Alzheimer’s disease by 2025.
