Created in 2019, the Governor’s Council on an Age-Friendly Minnesota plans to submit its final recommendations this year. AARP is also continuing to support communities and work with state legislators to set up a permanent age-friendly council that will enable more change across the state.
The state is poised to enter the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities, after Gov. Tim Walz signed an executive order creating the Governor’s Council on an Age-Friendly Minnesota.
Americans shouldn’t have to pay the highest prices in the world for the medicines they need. Minnesotans depend on their prescriptions – but from cancer treatments to EpiPens, and beyond, drug companies' skyrocketing prices are pushing life-saving treatments out of reach for those who need them. Medications don’t work if people can’t afford them. It's time to Stop Rx Greed.
Communities across Minnesota are working to become more livable for residents of all ages. AARP is working across Minnesota in partnership with local leaders, organization, and dedicated residents to help make that vision a reality.
