AARP AARP States Missouri Scams & Fraud

Beware of these Frauds and Scams

Brenda wanted to a take a break from her Holiday Shopping so she stopped for a coffee at popular chain coffee shop. Realizing she could log in on the public Wi-Fi she decided to make good use of her time and order a few more gifts online. This was good news for a potential scammer, but not good news for Brenda.

When Brenda relayed to her son that she was shopping online, he immediately warned her about scammers and suggested she review her security settings on her phone and tablet. Using a public WIFI connection is a great way for hackers to capture your credit card number due to the lack of security.

This is just one of many scams that AARP is tracking through their Fraud Watch Network
