"BOLO" for Andrus Award Candidates

It’s not too early to Be On the Look Out for that deserving volunteer to nominate for the 2016 Missouri AARP Andrus Award for Community Service.

AARP is committed to volunteer service that can be traced back to the organization’s founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, whose motto was “to serve, not to be served.”

The annual Andrus Award for Community Service is AARP’s most prestigious and visible volunteer award. It recognizes individuals who are sharing their experience, talent and skills to enrich their communities in ways that are consistent with AARP’s mission, vision and commitment to volunteer service.

Eligibility requirements for the Andrus Award for Community Service:
* Nominees must be 50 years of older.
* Volunteer performance is not based on pay.
* Accomplishments, achievements or service must reflect AARP’s vision and mission.
* Couples or partners together are eligible; teams are not.
* The recipient must live in Missouri.
* This is not a posthumous award.

Think, look and be aware of viable candidates for this honor. Nominations may be submitted by AARP members, volunteers, chapter or unit members, community partners and members or the public at large.
