Brain Power: Use It or Lose It!

Trinity United Methodist Church in Piedmont was the site of the “Brain Power: Use It or Lose It!” seminar that focused on memory loss, research, early detection, and how to get a proper Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Participants were involved in activities that stimulated the brain through exercise, health eating, and music.

Presenters included: Mary Ehvenreich, Alzheimer’s Assocation-St. Louis Chapter; Phyllis Flanagan, University of Missouri Extension; Rhonda Bramlett, Aging Matters; Debra Fisher, Safe Harbor Hospice; and Diane Hall, AARP in Missouri.

The free event, open to those 18 and over, enjoyed a complimentary lunch, beverages and light snacks. Exhibits provided additional resources for participants to take away for future reference.

Sponsors of the event were AARP in Missouri; AARP Wayne County Chapter #1270; Aging Matters; Clark’s Mountain Skilled Nursing by Americare; Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation; Safe Harbor Hospice; Southeast Missouri Alzheimer Association; Wayne County Health Center; Wayne County Health Center; Wayne Medical Center, LLC; and University of Missouri Extension.
