Handy at home? Computer savvy?

Help out our community by sharing your skills as a volunteer with the St. Louis NORC. The St. Louis NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community), a non-sectarian neighborhood program operating in the Creve Coeur area and whose mission is to help older adults remain living at home, is in need of volunteers from the community. Here’s a snapshot of their needs:

• Minor plumbing, electrical, and “handyman” home repairs - Change a faucet washer, replace a furnace filter, program a remote control, organize closets, rake leaves and weed flowerbeds are just some of the needs around the home in need of assistance.

• Troubleshoot computer software or hardware problems - Train older adults to use a computer. Help them solve the mysteries of why their computer won’t do what they want.

You determine your own schedule; even an hour a month is welcomed.

Interested? Contact Roberta Gartenberg, St. Louis NORC Volunteer Coordinator (314-442-3808 or rgartenberg@jfedstl.org).
