How to Identify Holiday Scams in Montana

Suspicious charities, gift card fraud, packages snatched off porches—the holidays are a busy time for swindlers and other crooks.

AARP Montana is offering presentations on how consumers can protect themselves, in Great Falls, Butte, Billings, Helena, Roundup and the Flathead area. Volunteer fraud fighters explain how to spot the latest cons.

AARP Montana is seeking residents it can train to provide presentations in additional communities. Members can also receive emailed scam alerts by signing up for the AARP Fraud Watch Network at aarp.org/fraudwatchnetwork.

Call the fraud call center at 800-646-2283 if you have a complaint. Groups of 25 or more can request a presentation on preventing the latest fraud by emailing mtaarp@aarp.org.
