Nevada Voices Podcast: A Preview of the 2017 Nevada Legislature

What are the key issues facing our members and Nevadans 50+ and their caregivers during this session of the Nevada Legislature? We talk to AARP Nevada's Director of Government Relations Barry Gold about those issues.

With Nevada only having legislative sessions every two years, lawmakers have just one crack to get it right. AARP Nevada will be following closely the developments to ensure new laws don't negatively impact you and your loved ones.

Last session, in 2015, AARP worked with lawmakers pass the CARE Act. It was massively important legislation to help the hundreds of thousands of caregivers in Nevada.

Gold talks to us about four key issues AARP is watching this time around. From a new work and save program, to continued legislation to help caregivers, it should be an interesting few months in Carson City.

ALSO: As usual, AARP Nevada State Director Maria Dent kicks off the podcast with her monthly Director's Report. In February, we celebrate Black History Month and Maria shares with us some exciting and important events.
