As part of its Passport to Healthy Living program, AARP North Dakota will host a virtual talk in December on how to beat the winter blues.
The state’s long winters can lead to feelings of loneliness, isolation, low energy and even seasonal affective disorder, a form of depression. These feelings can worsen during isolation resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Paul Nussbaum, a certified clinical psychologist and geropsychologist and founder of the Brain Health Center, will describe winter coping mechanisms and ways to build resilience and be mentally healthier.
Register for the event at aarp.org/NDevents. The presentation will be held from 3 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 15, but will also be available on demand at youtube.com/aarpnd.
