A Video Thank You for our North Dakota Volunteers!

nd_Volunteer Conference Group Cropped

It’s National Volunteer Week – our opportunity to thank those of you who lend your time, talent, voice and support to AARP’s work in our state and our communities.

Watch this short video we’ve created just for you to thank you for your volunteer service.

We simply could not accomplish our work without you and hundreds of other volunteers. That includes AARP North Dakota volunteers who serve in leadership roles on our Executive Council, those with Tax-Aide and Driver Safety, as well as those who are involved in our advocacy work, those who give fraud presentations in communities across the state, those who lead Life Reimagined checkups, and to the many individuals who volunteer their time to help us at local events in their communities.

As you know, each year one person in North Dakota is honored with the AARP State Andrus Award for Community Service. Its purpose is to shine a light on a North Dakota volunteer who shares their experience, talent and skills to enrich the lives of others in their community.

We will begin to accept nominations for the 2017 Andrus Award next week. Please take a minute to nominate someone you know who is making a difference in the lives of others. The nomination deadline is June 3.

Beginning May 1, you can submit nominations online, where you will also find more information and complete eligibility requirements.

Once again, thank you for all you do in service to your state and community and for being part of the AARP family here in North Dakota!
