AARP Foundation’s Tax-Aide program is offering free tax preparation services across Oklahoma until April 15. Tax-Aide volunteers provide free tax preparation and filing services to all with a focus on adults with low to moderate income.
Volunteers are trained and IRS-certified every year to ensure they understand the latest changes to the U.S. tax code. AARP membership is not required to use the service.

"Even modest refunds can significantly enhance financial stability, particularly for vulnerable older adults,” AARP Oklahoma Tax-Aide State Coordinator Bob Gingerich said. “AARP Foundation Tax-Aide ensures that Oklahomans receive the credits and deductions they deserve, putting money back into their pockets each year."
Gingerich said the volunteers are IRS-certified annually and stay up-to-date with the latest changes and additions to the tax code, including the new Oklahoma Caring for Caregivers tax credit for family caregivers.
During the 2024 tax season, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers completed over 13,000 federal and state returns in Oklahoma. From early February to mid-April, nearly 28,000 Tax-Aide volunteers will be available at over 3,600 locations nationwide, including libraries, malls, banks, and community centers in all 50 states. Last year, these volunteers helped secure almost $1.3 billion in total refunds for nearly 1.7 million people.
