The partnership between AARP Oklahoma, Travel OK, and Oklahoma State Parks has reached a new milestone with the inauguration of the latest Heart Healthy Trail at Sequoyah State Park in Hulbert. This trail is the 17th addition to the Heart Healthy Trail system, which spans across Oklahoma state parks and provides accessible, paved trails for people of all ages and abilities.
Notable figures attended the event, including Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department Executive Director Shelley Zumwalt; Oklahoma State Park Director Sterling Zearley; Sequoyah State Park Director Tony Presley; and Sen. Blake “Cowboy” Stephens. Members of the Hulbert Lion’s Club and Chamber of Commerce also attended to celebrate this significant achievement.
AARP Oklahoma State Director Sean Voskuhl said AARP Oklahoma values its four-year partnership with Travel OK and Oklahoma State Parks. “Our shared interest takes the form of AARP’s Livable Communities initiative, which aims to make neighborhoods, towns, cities, and rural areas more livable for people of all ages, including those with disabilities,” Voskuhl said. “This new trail at Sequoyah State Park is a testament to AARP Oklahoma’s ongoing commitment to creating livable communities and promoting healthy lifestyles for all Oklahomans.”
