AARP Eye Center
You're invited to join AARP Oklahoma for a first-look screening of the Sky Blossom documentary, a raw, candid look at the 24.5 million teens and twenty-somethings caring for a veteran parent or grandparent. The screening will take place March 3 at 7 p.m. CST. This event is free, but registration is required.
Caring for family with tough medical conditions, these young family caregivers stay at home doing things often seen only in hospitals. They are cheerleaders, work part time, and go to college – but also live double lives – quietly growing up as America’s next greatest generation.
A heart touching and compelling documentary, Sky Blossom will resonate with military families and family caregivers. This special virtual event will focus on one of the families in the Sky Blossom caregiving documentary, and feature a live discussion on caregiving with the family. Oklahoma Department of Veteran Affairs' Women Veterans Coordinator Lisa Mussett and Shawn Moore, Elizabeth Dole Foundation fellow and Caregivers on the Homefront executive director and founder, will also join the conversation to answer your questions on veteran benefits and caregiving support.
We hope you will join us for this special event and important discussion on March 3 at 7 p.m.
