Help Restore Aging Services to State Budget

Budget

Since the first Pennsylvania lottery ticket was sold in 1972, lottery-funded services have enabled older Pennsylvanians to enjoy senior center initiatives, nutritious meals, health education programs, benefits enrollment, adult day services, caregiver support, elder rights protection, and more.

In the 2021-22 fiscal year alone, the Lottery generated a profit of $1.2 billion to benefit older adults in the Commonwealth.

These are benefits older Pennsylvanians have come to rely on.

But now, older Pennsylvanians need our help.

As we enter this final week of June, the Pennsylvania Senate is considering House Bill 611, which – if passed in its current form – will provide no increase for needed aging services and supports which are provided through Pennsylvania’s local area agencies on aging and local senior community centers.

Will you tell the State Senate to restore the Shapiro Administration-supported and House-approved budget amounts for the Department of Aging?

Click here to send a message to your state senator.

Every Pennsylvanian deserves the opportunity to age with dignity, health, and independence. Please, urge your lawmaker to protect and allocate the funds needed to meet the needs of older adults, their families, and their communities.

Tell your State Senator today to restore the Lottery Fund increases proposed in House Bill 611.
