Community Outreach
Community Events Team
Work with a team of volunteers in your local community to create a strategic plan and execute events to share information and resources on a variety of AARP programs and activities.


Speakers Bureau
Visit community groups and deliver presentations, using materials developed and provided by AARP. Educate and inform the public on topics such as brain health, caregiving, fraud prevention, livable communities and veterans’ resources.

Veterans Outreach
Help us to develop and execute a strategic plan for engaging veterans and military families so we can share valuable information and helpful resources.

Advocacy Positions

Issue Expert
Use your professional or personal expertise to help inform us on an array of topics and contribute to developing strategies for how we approach state priorities. We work on a variety of issues like access to healthcare, transportation, healthy living, Medicare, social security, financial planning, veteran support and entrepreneurship.

Legislative Advocate
Partner with staff to influence important state and federal legislative issues including access to healthcare, economic security and protection from consumer and investment fraud. Activities include contacting legislators by phone, email and through in person visits.

Operations & Support Positions

Operations Support Specialist
Work from your home or in the State Office in Columbia to help book venues for events, order materials for volunteers, conduct research for campaigns and support the state office in maintaining accurate records of volunteer activities.
