Happy 225th Bday SC!!!

Come and celebrate the Palmetto State’s 225 ^th Birthday and enjoy some great South Carolina treats on May 23!

From 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., join AARP South Carolina on the outside plaza at 1201 Main Street.  Come by, sip on some sweet tea, the state’s official hospitality beverage and grab a handful of the official state snack - boiled peanuts! Thursday, May 23 is the 225 ^th anniversary of South Carolina becoming the eighth state of the United States of America. In the true spirit of the Palmetto state, we are pitching in to help our neighbors here in South Carolina and Oklahoma.

• “S.O.S.: Sustain Our Seniors,” a project of the 2013 Leadership South Carolina Class to raise awareness about the problem of senior hunger in our state.  AARP South Carolina will make a check presentation to the S.O.S. project at noon.
• The Oklahoma Tornado Relief Fund
