Rock Hill PSC Hearing Regarding Duke Energy

utilities_logo_2

The South Carolina Public Service Commission will hold a hearing regarding Duke Energy's request to raise your rates in Rock Hill on August 15 at York Technical College on S. Anderson Road.  The hearing is open to the public and begins at 6 p.m.

Duke Energy had originally asked for a 16.3% increase in residential electric rates, but has entered into a proposed settlement with the Office of Regulatory Staff and the parties who intervened  in the case that only reduces the actual hike for consumers to 10%.  The Public Service Commission can accept this settlement or reject it.  AARP is asking that the PSC take a strong, hard look at this settlement and why consumer's are being asked to shoulder the burden of the hike. You can speak out against the hike during the August 15 hearing.
