KATY, TEXAS--AARP Texas is recognizing the work of State Representative Bill Callegari of Katy by presenting him with a 2013 Legislative Leadership Award at the meeting of the Katy AARP chapter.
The award recognizes Representative Callegari's leadership in strengthening teachers' and state employees' retirement systems --which are essential to the financial security of Texans who have dedicated their careers to public service.
"Thanks to the leadership of Representative Callegari, the hard working women and men who help shape young minds and keep the state running can have confidence in the security of the retirement systems that provide a financial safety net for them and their families," said Bob Jackson, AARP Texas director.
