2021 Hurricane Season: Prepare, Respond, Recover, Resources

The 2021 hurricane season is in full swing, and as storms threaten the US, it is important to have a safety plan. This season is expected to be an active one. AccuWeather is predicting 16 to 20 named storms, seven to 10 hurricanes, including three to five major hurricanes this year. No one can predict where these storms will hit, which is why it is important to be ready and have a plan. Your hurricane plan should include jugging a storm and a pandemic.

While we cannot predict which communities will be hit by a storm, one thing we can do is monitor the weather and prepare for this type of event.

We at AARP know people who are 50+ sometimes face additional challenges. That’s why AARP is teaming up with the Red Cross in Houston to help you get ready. The idea is to help you stay informed, stay alert, and stay safe. There's even an app you can download. Here are a few tips to help you plan for the 2021 Hurricane Season.
