The City of Austin Housing and Community Development Office is looking for Austinites’ perspective on community needs. Your ideas and input will help prioritize local and federal funds as the office prepares its action plan for this year. Attend a public hearing and voice your opinion. Or share your views online by April 26.
Shifting Gears Lecture Series with Dr. John Pucher
On April 15, Join BikeTexas (link: http://www.biketexas.org/), the City of Austin, and local leaders for the Shifting Gears Lecture series with transportation expert Dr. John Pucher. Pucher will speak (https://www.biketexas.org/advocacy/shifting-gears/austin ) about complete streets and how making biking and walking safer helps the community.
Creating More Walkable Urban Places: Presentation and Walkability Workshop
On May 2, Scott Bricker of America Walks will talk about solutions to improve neighborhood walkability and safety. Learn about some ways to make Austin a more walkable community. On May 3, an all-day walkability workshop will be held to further discuss walkability issues in Austin and connect community members with leaders and experts.
