AARP Eye Center

On Saturday, April 26th, over 50 people attended the inaugural launch of AARP Virgin Islands’ inspiring CAREversation series. The goal of CAREversation is to openly discuss caregiving in the Virgin Islands, and the challenges caregivers face. AARP was deliberate in the number of guests attending this initial CAREversation. A smaller group allowed for real conversation, honest conversation. Attendees discussed how to preserve dignity, respect and boundaries while caregiving; how to remain grounded in faith and spiritual connection during emotionally demanding times; clinically proven tools to help manage the complexity of caregiving; and where and when to get help. This event was led by Sandra Gerard, AARP State Volunteer/AARP Caregiver support. AARP Virgin Islands would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who joined us for our first CAREversation, Sandra Gerard, Ruby Scott, Pamela Toussaint-Everett, Dr. Renee, Dr. Clema Lewis, Ms. Ellen Singletary, Dr. Shatel Noel, Monsi, and the Delta Sigma Theda Sorority for creating such an inspiring and healing event for all!
STAY TUNED for our next CAREversation in June! Details to come!
