AARP in The Virgin Islands and 2024 AARP Community Challenge Grantee the Virgin Islands Surfing Federation to host the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Playground and Shade Structure at Ezra Fredericks Ballpark in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.
The community of St. Thomas is invited to the unveiling of a shade structure, sponsored by AARP Virgin Islands and VI Wise, along with a newly installed playground at Ezra Fredericks Ballpark. These exciting new additions are the product of a collaboration between the Virgin Islands Department of Sports, Parks, and Recreation and the Virgin Islands Surfing Federation, marking a significant step in the ongoing revitalization of the park.
The project aims to transform the space into a multi-use recreational hub for families, athletes, and individuals of all ages. In addition to the shade structure and playground, the revitalization project will include a Skate & Bike Park, basketball court improvements, and the preservation of field space for ongoing recreational use.
The ceremony will feature remarks from AARP Virgin Islands’ State Director, Troy De Chabert-Schuster, along with other community leaders.

Light refreshments will be served.
