Join AARP for the VI Disaster Preparedness Summit. This summit is dedicated to empowering older adults and their support networks-including friends, family, and neighbors-with strategies for disaster mitigation and preparedness. Representatives from VITEMA, VI Department of Human Services, VI Department of Health, VI Department of Public Works, VI Police Department, VI Fire Services and the American Red Cross of the Virgin Islands will share information and provide invaluable insights that will promote resiliency in our communities before, during, and after a disaster.
AARP Virgin Islands State President, Jacqueline Heyliger is a driving force behind this event. "AARP is committed to equipping our community, especially those 50 and older, with essential knowledge on disaster preparedness. Come and hear our presenters who will share vital information on the steps to take before, during, and after a natural disaster. This is an opportunity to interact with the experts," she stated.
This event will be offered on both St. Croix and on St. Thomas! Join us on St. Croix on June 3, 2025 from 10am - 12:30pm at the UVI Medical Simulation Center, or on St. Thomas on June 5, 2025 from 10am - 12:30pm at UVI Administration & Conference Center. Light refreshments for breakfast and lunch will be provided for participants (yum!). Registration is FREE, so RSVP today.
