Aging in place means being able to travel confidently in the community, whether to shop, dine out or connect with friends.
Capitol Hill Village, which serves Capitol Hill residents, won an AARP Community Challenge grant to help low-income older adults better navigate transportation.
The organization is using the funds for training that will help residents understand transportation technology and the options available in the capital city.
Training will include speakers, live demonstrations and practice activities.
The Community Challenge Grant program aims to make communities more livable for people of all ages. That includes making transportation safer and more accessible.
