AARP Eye Center
Do you have a flair for painting, poetry or some other form of creative expression? Here’s a chance to be recognized for your work.
In cooperation with the Beacon newspapers, AARP DC is cosponsoring the Beacon Celebration of the Arts contest for amateur artists 50 and older in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
The contest has four categories: painting, photography, poetry and sculpture/3D (including pottery, jewelry, textile arts and more). Artists may submit entries by jpeg from April through June, with a $10 entry fee per piece and a limit of three pieces per category.
Winners will be announced in September, with awards, cash prizes and opportunities to exhibit in local galleries. For more information, go to thebeaconnewspapers.com/artcontest.
