Want to save money on your water bill? You may be eligible for discounts offered by DC Water and the district government.
The assistance can reduce the cost of the Clean Rivers Impervious Area Charge, a surcharge Washington consumers pay to prevent contamination of local waterways.
Three levels of discounts for low- and moderate-income customers are available, with an annual bill reduction of as much as $800. If you have a household with four or more members and an income as high as $121,300, you may also be eligible for a smaller discount.
A separate program, called SPLASH and funded by DC Water employees, customers and the community, helps maintain critical water and sewer services for those suffering financial emergencies.
Applicants must show proof of income. To apply, go to dcwater.com/customer-assistance or call 311.
