AARP Eye Center
AARP Foundation and AARP Washington will help older adults learn the skills they need to fill available jobs through a free job training and mentoring program.
Older workers were hit particularly hard during the pandemic, with some of them unable to telework and others concerned about their health because of the coronavirus.
Applicants for the pilot progam must be over 50, unemployed or underemployed, and meet income limits.
The program for 300 workers includes digital-skills coaching, career guidance, job search tools, peer support and information on community resources that are helpful.
Orientation webinars for the program are at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in March. Register at aarp.org/JobSkills or call 855-231-2876.
