Free event! / Plan. Prepare. Protect. – Disaster Preparedness event for Spokane's 50+

Spokane Emergency Preparedness_v2.png

AARP Spokane and BECU invite you to a free event on July 30 at the Southside Senior Activity Center. "Plan. Prepare. Protect" is designed to help older adults and family caregivers in Spokane County take practical steps toward disaster preparedness.

The likelihood that you and your family will recover from an emergency tomorrow often depends on the planning and preparation done today. While each person’s abilities and needs are unique, every individual can take steps to prepare for all kinds of emergencies, from a house fire to severe weather.

By evaluating your own needs and making an emergency plan that fits your individual circumstances, you and your loved ones can be better prepared. Come together with others in your area and walk away with the confidence to face emergencies - big or small.

The workshop offers a chance to connect with your neighbors and learn directly from local experts and support organizations including Spokane County Emergency Management, Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington (ALTCEW), and Avista Utilities. Together, we’re working to build a safer, more resilient Spokane.

Lunch will be provided.
