AARP Eye Center
Happy National Volunteer Month! Thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge to help improve the lives of older adults and their families throughout Washington state. Thank you for your conviction, compassion, and willingness. Thank you for your patience, respect, and perseverance.
As we have navigated the ups and downs of the pandemic, your willingness to seamlessly switch to online events, learn the new technology, and be flexible as we made adjustments has helped our members stay engaged through uncertain times.
Volunteerism empowers individuals to find their purpose, to take their passion and turn it into meaningful change. When each of us, in our own way, answers the call to make a difference, we make progress in solving our most persistent problems and create stronger communities.
From legislative activism to community presentations, from virtual events to mentoring new volunteers, the amount of time that you commit to our communities is priceless. You help fulfill our purpose and vision, make our events fun and successful, and full of valuable information.
While we want to take this time during National Volunteer Month to celebrate you and your service, we are so thankful for each and every one of you throughout the year.
We look forward to a time soon, when we can be together
again.
With immense gratitude,
AARP Washington State Office
