AARP Eye Center
AARP is proud to be the lead sponsor for a nonpartisan, publicly accessible debate for Lt. Governor on October 22, hosted by the Washington State Debate Coalition.
We believe that voters should have more information from candidates than 30-second sound bites from partisan sources. Debates are valuable opportunities for the public to engage with the candidates on the important issues that matter most to them.
Continuing its tradition of hosting debates of statewide consequence, the Washington State Debate Coalition (WSDC) and its premier media partners will broadcast a Lieutenant Governor debate with candidates State Senator Marko Liias (D) (WA-21), and US Representative Denny Heck (D) (WA-10).
The October 22 debate will air from 8 - 9 p.m. immediately following that evening’s Presidential debates.
In order to make sure we have diverse questions that cover multiple topics, we are asking residents to submit their questions in advance for selection. Submitted questions will be reviewed, selected, and edited for brevity. Submit a question here.
