When AARP WI held a local livable community discussion to find out what would improve locals’ day-to-day lives in their neighborhood, residents voiced concerns about pedestrian safety and making streets safer. See how AARP Local WI, AARP WI volunteers and community partners took to the streets to address pedestrian safety locally.

More than 1 million Wisconsinites provide care to a family member or friend with complex medical conditions or disabilities. That’s nearly one quarter (23 percent) of adults across the state. Nearly 60 percent of family caregivers in Wisconsin provide care to someone who has a long-term physical condition.
We know how impactful $1,000 can be. This is our way of extending some seed money to get these projects off the ground. Next deadline: September 27, 2025.

With November designated as National Family Caregivers Month, now is a great time to shine a bright light on the incredible work that these unsung heroes perform every day in an effort to keep their loved ones living in their own homes and communities as long as possible.
While the recent announcement of a 2.8% cost-of-living (COLA) adjustment for Social Security is great news for all Wisconsinites on the program, we know that more can be done to help our state’s residents age with dignity, purpose, and financial security during these difficult economic times.
At AARP Wisconsin, we believe that everyone should have the power to choose how they live as they age. That belief drives our work, and it’s also why we’re inviting you to join us as a volunteer. The Madison Housing Coalition is proud to announce the return of Madison Housing Week, a week-long series of events and discussions focused on housing issues, innovation, and accessibility in our community. Now through Saturday, October 25, residents are invited to participate in daily in-person sessions across the city and virtual lunchtime events designed to spark dialogue and inspire action.
The newly formed Speaker's Task Force on Elder Services will meet several times this session and will ultimately make legislative recommendations.
