Join AARP Colorado for NeighborWalks Colorado Springs. Enjoy guided walks through some of Colorado Springs’ most beautiful and interesting neighborhoods. Come meet others in your community, learn the history and join the fun. Walks will be led by a local historian.

The goal of NeighborWalks is to get more people walking every day for health, transportation, environment, and community. The walks are designed to be inclusive and are themed, educational and social events that bring neighbors together to explore neighborhoods and enjoy the cities walking and pedestrian infrastructure, historic and cultural districts, parks and public spaces.

AARP CO NeighborWalks Colorado College Historical Tour Colorado Springs

Founded in 1874 before Colorado was a state, Colorado College was the first private college in the Rocky Mountain region, calling Colorado Springs home. Today, it is a highly accredited and top ranking college in the state drawing in students from around the world. This tour will explore the history of the campus and the beautiful buildings that still stand.

Explore the history of Colorado Springs, known for its rich beauty and culture. We will learn about the early settlement, the starts for the town, and how it became Colorado’s second largest city. A beautiful walk through the downtown area, our tour will stroll the steps of history with the “basics” of its heritage and also touch on The Springs’ new commitment to athletics and a healthy lifestyle with quick access to the outdoors.

Join us on this tour to learn about the faithful community of Colorado Springs. There are many places of worship around the city but we will focus on the downtown area with highlights on the history and architecture of what many consider to be Colorado Springs’ most beautiful buildings.
