AARP Eye Center
AARP has awarded three Community Challenge grants to make neighborhoods in Arkansas more livable and accessible.
The city of Benton will replace traditional crosswalks with colorful, thermoplastic ones, enhancing the walkability of downtown.
The nonprofit Main Street Batesville will build a new concrete and brick pathway and add signage to improve access to a new park in downtown.
The nonprofit Main Street West Memphis will create a public art display of salvaged bicycles, painted by students from local schools. The site will serve as a community gathering place and future mini park.
This year, AARP is awarding 159 Community Challenge grants across the nation, totaling nearly $1.6 million. Learn more about the program at aarp.org/livable.
