Arkansas Voters: Prepare to Cast Your Ballot in May Primary

Vote

Arkansas’ Tuesday, May 24, primaries could decide general election candidates for U.S. Senate, U.S. House, governor, state legislature and other offices.

AARP Arkansas urges those who are eligible to cast ballots. Early voting runs May 9 to May 23 (generally 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays), at the county clerk’s office; some off-site locations may have different hours. Polls are open on primary day from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Photo ID is required, although residents of long-term care facilities can instead provide documentation confirming their residence. Those “unavoidably absent” on primary day, ill, physically disabled, living abroad or temporarily located elsewhere due to military service can vote absentee.
