Voter turnout typically drops during midterm elections, and that means older voters can have a powerful impact.

On Nov. 6, Arkansans will select a governor, lieutenant governor, four U.S. representatives, members of the state legislature and candidates for other local posts.

A proposed constitutional amendment would limit noneconomic and punitive damages in personal injury and wrongful death cases.

AARP opposes the amendment because it diminishes the power of vulnerable people in medical facilities and nursing homes. AARP urges all voters to show up and be heard.
