Take Flight: See Air Force Thunderbirds at October Event

November 12, 2011 - A U.S. Air Force combat controller jumps with the American flag during the 2011 Aviation Nation Open House at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will offer a free air show at Little Rock Air Force Base the weekend of Oct. 21-22. AARP Arkansas, a sponsor of the event, will be there to talk to members of the 50-plus community about its support of veterans.

Thunder Over the Rock runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, featuring aerial performances and Arkansas’ largest science festival. Arkansas is home to about 200,000 veterans, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
