Film Screening: “The Search for General Tso” (May 1 – 3 | Virtual) 
Enjoy a virtual film screening of “The Search for General Tso”. This feature documentary explores the origins and ubiquity of Chinese-American food through the story of the iconic dish, General Tso Chicken. Register HERE. Film Screening: “The Intern” (May 8 -10 |Virtual)
Enjoy a virtual screening of "The Intern" – a film about retired widower (Robert De Niro) who becomes a senior intern at an online company, finding friendship and purpose while helping his young boss (Anne Hathaway) navigate life. Data Talk: AANHPI Representation Matters (Friday, May 9 @ 10 a.m. | Virtual)
Join us for a conversation with Alex Chew of Amplify AAPI and Van Park, M.D., of the UCSF CARE Registry, moderated by AARP's Daphne Kwok, vice president of Diversity Equity and Inclusion of Asian American and Pacific Islander Outreach. They will share how their work, using AANHPI data, is leveraged in entertainment, medical research, marketing and economic decisions. Register HERE. This virtual event is free and open to the public. Intro to Selling Online (Wednesday, May 14 @ 9 a.m. | Virtual)
Want to make some extra money? Online marketplaces make it easy to sell almost anything- from your vintage collectibles to handmade crafts. This lecture will introduce you to different online platforms for selling all kinds of items, including furniture, clothing, household items, and more. Screening & Filmmaker Chat: “Fugetsu-Do” (Wednesday, May 14 @ 12 p.m. | Virtual) 
Join us for a virtual screening of “Fugetsu-Do” and a conversation with the filmmakers.
This short documentary integrates the history of Japanese American incarceration into an intimate portrait of a 120-year-old mochigashi store in downtown LA, whose story of survival runs through the heart of the Japanese American experience. Following the screening, there will be a live discussion with the filmmakers, Kaia Rose and Brian Kito, moderated by award winning journalist David Louie. Register HERE. Let’s Take It Outside: Learn About Happy Hollow Park & Zoo (Thursday, May 15 @ 10 a.m. | Virtual) 
Join AARP and the staff at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo to learn about the exciting 11th season of Senior Safari and how animal conservation lies at the heart of all programs, activities and operations at the zoo. This event is part of AARP California’s Let’s Take it Outside™ program that provides participants with an opportunity to learn about and explore various outdoor public places and spaces throughout the state. Author Dave Iverson on a Caregiving Journey (Friday, May 16 @ 10 a.m. | Virtual) 
Join us for a conversation with author, filmmaker, and retired journalist Dave Iverson. Hear from Iverson as he shares highlights from his book Winter Stars, a memoir of caring for his mother. Described as a book of 'small details and large truths,' it gives an intimate and honest account of caregiving and its lessons in humility, resiliency, and love. Register HERE. Drive-Through Shred Event (Saturday, May 17 @ 10 a.m. | East Oakland Senior Center)
When it comes to protecting your personal information, there’s one simple step you can take…shred it! Join AARP and the AARP Fraud Watch Network for a document shredding event in your community. Your documents will be shredded on-site, free of charge. Come fight identity theft by safely and securely disposing of your old personal documents, ID cards, medical bills, and more. Register HERE.
