Metro Manager (San Jose)
The San Jose Metro Manager for the California State Office is a strong cross-functional leader for the Bay Area community team with matrix responsibility for communications statewide. She/he is responsible for providing counsel for communications to the State Director, staff and volunteer leadership, and leading results-oriented implementation of a strategic communications strategy. As part of the California Management Team, comprised of the State Director, Director - Strategic Business Operations and other Metro Managers, the Manager works with this team to integrate his/her area of practice with the other matrix functions and market-based locations.
Manager, California State Communications (Pasadena)
The Manager, California State Communications is a strong matrix team leader managing communications and federal/state campaigns. She/he is responsible for providing counsel for communications and campaigns to the State Director, staff and volunteer leadership, and leading results-oriented implementation for both. As part of the California Management Team, comprised of the State Director, Director - Strategic Business Operations and other Metro Managers, the Manager works with this team to integrate his/her area of practice with the other matrix functions and market-based locations.
Associate State Director, Community (San Jose)
The AARP Associate State Director (ASD) for Community is a frontline voice and presence with the 50+ public, AARP members and volunteers, targeted audiences including multicultural audiences, stakeholders and partners who:
- Works in a designated Metro Area and conducts advocacy, multicultural market engagement, community outreach & volunteer engagement,
- Executes a variety of strategies and tactics for public facing initiatives and events that build AARP’s relevance and contributes to delivering positive impact for Metro Area audiences as part of the AARP social mission,
- Works with Metro staff and volunteers to develop AARP’s presence in communities through strengthening visibility and awareness of AARP’s Brand, and
- Leads a project team across the state to coordinate advocacy and outreach for a campaign, advance an initiative (e.g. age-friendly communities), or develop issue expertise of staff and volunteers.
