Web

The University of Colorado Boulder is hosting a new exhibit from now through the end of the year. Moments in the History of Mexicans in the Southwest United States is being held in the Norlin Library, underground west wing, on the Boulder campus, 500 Manhattan Dr., Boulder, CO 80303.

The exhibit includes the history of Mexican-American communities in the United States and explores racism, discrimination and violence against Mexicans and Chicanos.

Various sections delve into history from the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, to Mexican lynching, to the impact of the Ku Klux Klan in Colorado, to Latina social justice and much more.

“This is a tremendous project,” said Phil Hernandez, AARP El Comité lead and executive council member. “I urge everyone to take the time to view this important project.”
