AARP Eye Center
AARP needs Hispanic community leaders to participate in a calling tree, in which volunteers call Colorado legislators and inform them of important information about bills proposed in the Colorado Legislature and how they can impact older adults and their families.
"This is great advocacy work for Latino volunteers to really make a difference in their communities," Angela Cortez, AARP Colorado communications director, said of the Calling Tree. "It is a great opportunity to talk to your elected officials and help move the needle on making Colorado a better place for older adults and people of color."
Calling Tree advocates for AARP Colorado would impact the Colorado Legislature’s decisions on a variety of issues, including voting, health care and affordable housing, just to name a few.
Calling Tree members would receive alerts about priority issues during the legislative session. They would then contact their representatives on key legislation and discuss how their delegation should vote.
Training on issues and effectively contacting legislators will be provided.
