In a joint collaboration, AARP Connecticut, Borrow My Glasses and Quinnipiac University will take people on a journey towards a new way to think about aging by hosting a free forum featuring internationally acclaimed longevity expert Dr. Bill Thomas on Tuesday, Sept. 27, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The free event – Revolutionize Aging: A Masters Level Discussion on Disrupt Aging – will be held at Quinnipiac University’s North Haven campus.

In addition to being the keynote speaker, Dr. Thomas will moderate the panel discussions featuring a diverse list of Connecticut-based guests from the aging and caregiving field, including academic professors, professionals, practitioners, students, families and consumers. Confirmed panelists include Donna Fedus, gerontologist and founder of the Borrow My Glasses organization that provides a look at aging and caregiving from a new perspective, and Professor Catherine Richards Solomon, Quinnipiac professor of sociology and department chairperson.

The engaging and interactive forum will raise awareness of the need for more conversation and understanding about the nature of aging today, as well as resources and study dedicated to learning about adulthood and elderhood.

“One of our main goals with this program is to sync the ways people think about aging with the realities of aging today,” said Fedus. “This promises to be the dynamic kickoff to a campaign that will change thinking, actions and conversations in workplaces, classrooms, and in the community. If you want different images of aging to become the norm, join us in this revolution!”

Professor Solomon added, “Led by the dynamic Dr. Bill Thomas, this event will engage and inspire students, professionals and the community to rethink their ideas about aging and being old, as well as shape their future interactions with the older population. It truly will revolutionize their ideas about aging.”

Space is limited and advanced registration for the free event is required online or by calling 1-877-926-8300.
