AARP Eye Center
By Kendall Keil, Partner Manager with the Travelers Championship
With any event that we run, two of the most integral elements are the sponsors and volunteers. Their support contributes to us running a successful event for all involved. We are proud to partner with AARP Connecticut for a second consecutive year for our annual MahoneySabol 5K at the Travelers Championship. Make sure you stop by their on-site booth with State Director Nora Duncan and volunteers to learn more about the benefits and volunteer opportunities available to all AARP Connecticut members.
Recently, the Travelers Championship announced that its annual 5K race will benefit the ALS Clinic at the Hospital for Special Care (HSC), the tournament’s primary beneficiary for 2016. All race participants, including athletes with disabilities, are welcome to run, walk or donate to benefit the ALS Clinic at HSC. The course follows the roads lining the fairways and greens of TPC River Highlands.
The MahoneySabol 5K will once again feature a Kids Run and Kids Zone, as well as Post-Race Celebration. Both before and after the race, children will be able to enjoy mini golf, inflatables, face painters, balloon artists and more in the Kids Zone!
Those interested in participating in the MahoneySabol 5K or donating to the ALS Clinic at HSC can register by visiting www.travelerschampionship.com/mahoneysabol5K.
In addition to a donation to the ALS Clinic at HSC, all race participants will receive a race tech t-shirt and one ticket valid for any one day admission to the 2016 Travelers Championship.
The 2016 Travelers Championship will be held from August 1 – 7 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. Tickets for this year’s tournament are now on sale at www.TravelersChampionship.com
