AARP Connecticut’s New Free “Fighting Fraud with AARP Connecticut” Bimonthly Virtual Series Launches Friday

Fraud prevention button, concept about cybersecurity and credit card protection

New virtual presentation on scam prevention launches with steps consumers can take to protect themselves from identity theft.

Scammers are continually perfecting their scams, getting more sophisticated, learning new techniques with new technology, and honing their methods to better manipulate their targets. Knowledge gives consumers the power over scams and helps them stay a step ahead of the criminals.

As part of a continuing effort to provide ways to protect people from becoming victims of scams, AARP Connecticut will launch a new bimonthly virtual series. The free Fighting Fraud with AARP Connecticut webinar series will take place via Zoom on the fourth Friday of every other month at noon.

The series will launch with Friday, February 23, at noon with a focus on the topic of Identify Theft. Millions of consumers are victims of identity fraud and identity theft every year. The impact can be financially and emotionally devastating, especially for older Americans. We invite people to join AARP Connecticut for a discussion on the risk of having their identity stolen and learn key steps that can be taken to protect themselves from identity theft.

The webinars are free and open to members and non-members of all ages. Registration is required. Learn more and register for the February 23 event by visiting https://events.aarp.org/FightFraudFeb.

The April edition of Fighting Fraud with AARP Connecticut on April 26 at 12 p.m. will focus on scams around Artificial Intelligence.
