April is National Volunteer Month. AARP Delaware celebrates the incredible Delawareans whose selfless service strengthens communities nationwide. Their dedication leaves a lasting impact, and for that, we are deeply grateful.
AARP Delaware has teamed up with Smart Growth America — a Washington-based nonprofit — on a project that both groups hope will lead to more transportation options and affordable housing in key areas of the state.
AARP Delaware wants people to have more choices as to how they live as they age, and to age with dignity and independence. Better health and social connectedness are key priorities that can make that happen.

House Bill 205, DE EARNS was signed into law by Governor John Carney on August 18, 2022. AARP Delaware fully supports this new law which gives Delawareans a more secure financial future. The AARP Delaware State Office joined State Treasurer Colleen Davis and bill sponsors Rep. Larry Lambert and Sen. NIcole Poore when Governor John Carney signed the bill into law at the Mejah book store in Claymont.
AARP Delaware is a proud sponsor this year’s 36th Annual Amish Country Bike Tour, is scheduled to return Saturday, Sept. 10, starting and ending on Legislative Mall in downtown Dover, Delaware. With routes of 16, 25, 50, 62 and 100 miles, there is an option for cyclists of all ages and abilities.
With the close of the 151st General Assembly on June 30th, AARP is celebrating several big wins that will improve the lives of Delawareans 50+. Our Advocacy Team of volunteers worked tirelessly to help make it all happen!
Delaware voters will nominate candidates for state and federal offices on primary day, Tuesday, Sept. 13. AARP Delaware urges all eligible First Staters to vote and to be aware that because of redistricting, changed state legislative lines may affect which candidates appear on their ballots.
