AARP Florida has welcomed two new staff members to the growing state office team. Allison Chavez will serve as Associate State Director of Communications in Tallahassee, and Jill Auld will serve as Associate State Director of Outreach & Engagement in Jacksonville.
AARP Florida Director of Communications Jamie Mongiovi said, “AARP Florida is continuing to grow, and we are excited to welcome these talented individuals to our staff team. Allison’s vast experience in strategic communications and public relations will be critically important as we continue to share AARP’s story with our members, volunteers and stakeholders across Florida. I am delighted to have her join our strong team of communicators.”
AARP Florida Director of State Operations Dionne Polite said, “I am thrilled to welcome these new members to AARP Florida. Jill’s incredible experience in the non-profit space will be an asset to the Jacksonville area and AARP’s work in the Sunshine State. Allison Chavez joined AARP Florida in 2023 as Associate State Director of Communications in the Tallahassee area. She is a strategic communications expert and a Tallahassee native. Allison has a background working in both the private and public sectors, with experience ranging from The Zimmerman Agency to the Florida Department of Elder Affairs. Most recently, she served as the Public Affairs Manager at the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, where she helped protect, educate, and promote the hospitality industry across the state. Allison graduated from Florida State University with a degree in English concentrating in Editing, Writing and Media. She currently lives in Tallahassee with her husband, Martin, and their two dogs, Benny and Piper.

Jill joined AARP Florida in 2023 as Associate State Director of Outreach & Engagement in the Jacksonville area. She is a Jacksonville native and attended Florida State University, where she earned her master’s in social work; she is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Jill fell in love with volunteering at a young age, and it has become one of her core values. She supports the Jacksonville community through her engagement with the Literacy Alliance of Northeast Florida, Women’s Giving Alliance and JSC Noles In Action. Jill is driven by her passion to support and empower people to live fulfilling and dignified lives and inspire others to find causes they are passionate about. In her free time, Jill enjoys collecting shells and building sandcastles with her two daughters, and casting spells with her husband, Jeff, in Diagon Alley at Universal Studios.
