AARP Eye Center
Most caregivers suffer from what author, speaker and radio show host Linda Burhans calls the “Triple A dilemma”: The caregiver doesn’t ask for help, doesn’t accept help and doesn’t acknowledge themselves.
Burhans, who in November is leading a caregiving conference with AARP as a sponsor, suggests a simple exercise: Make a list of tasks someone else could do for you. The next time a neighbor or friend offers to help, have several ideas at the ready.
The virtual conference is scheduled for Nov. 12-14. It will cover legal matters, caregiver burnout, hospice care and other topics. Registrants receive access to recordings of conference sessions within 30 days.
