AARP Eye Center

At AARP Florida, we love to recognize our dedicated volunteers for their tireless work supporting our mission in their local communities. Today, we are recognizing Alicia Ramirez, an AARP Orlando volunteer for over seven years and tireless fraud fighter.
Alicia and her husband, Samuel, discovered their passion for fraud education and prevention after experiencing credit card fraud. The uphill battle to reclaim their identities — as well as watching a friend experience the aftermath of fraud – led her to apply for a job as a Neighborhood Watch Leader for the City of Orlando Police Department.
At AARP, Alicia is a Lead Volunteer and a Fraud Watch Network Lead in the Orlando area. Her true passion lies in advocating for the Hispanic/Latino community, where she frequents local radio shows and shares AARP's various fraud resources in Spanish. Alicia also attends events every month in Central Florida, where she shares AARP's fraud resources in both Spanish and English with the goal of educating everyone in her community.
We are so grateful to Alicia for her dedication to fraud prevention. Watch the video below to learn more about her story, and visit AARP.org/FLFraud for the latest resources on protecting yourself from fraud.
