Although it is most known for its historical landmarks such as the world-famous Biltmore Hotel and the Venetian Pool, both built in the 1920s, Coral Gables has much to give to the 50+ community.

Coral Gables offers a wide arrangement of programs and lectures for the 50 + community. All of these programs are held at Coral Gables new Adult Activity Center, which exclusively host the city’s programming for residents 50 and older.  Some of the highlighted programs they offer are Aqua Zumba, Watercolors, and Brain Gym. The city also offers Freebee rides via its trolley system to all ages that provides mass transportation throughout the city.

This is just the beginning for the city’s plans to enhance the living for its residents. Coral Gables currently involves elder people by including our senior advisory board in the process, and doing surveys. The city plans on continuing to distribute surveys periodically, and host focus groups with the target age groups.

One-fifth of the city’s population is older than 60 and continues to grow today. Coral Gables will continue to strive to offer our 50+ population world class service and care, with a hometown feel.
