Tell State Lawmakers It's Time to Stand Up for Nursing Home Residents!

There are 702 nursing homes in Florida whose duties are to house and care for our state’s most vulnerable residents. But did you know that during the COVID-19 pandemic, 33 percent of deaths in Florida stemmed from nursing homes? Floridians rely on these facilities to protect our most vulnerable and treasured loved ones. Now is the time for legislators to fight for them.

Instead, the Florida Legislature is fast-tracking bills that would shield negligent nursing home owners/operators and their parent corporations. Instead of protecting residents, lawmakers are backing the nursing home industry. These bills (SB 74/HB 7005) let negligent nursing homes off the hook.
